Who needs this spokesman for?
Who and specifically for what? - we do not know.
But we probably know when people ask for the Ombudsman's help.
How do we come to our rights?
We file a complaint, file a lawsuit, write to the office, and sometimes we appeal to the fourth authority, hoping that pressure from public opinion will improve our situation.
It was successful more than once. What about when there is nowhere else to go?
In our opinion, many people see the office of the Ombudsman as their last resort.
However, most associate the Defender's activity with matters causing controversy. Often concerning larger social groups. It's good too.
What about individuals? What about our neighbor, a colleague from work? Do we know their problems? Not. And we believe we have no right. But the Ombudsman does.
After all, it is ordinary people who write to him.
Because it is about our fundamental rights.
Because someone has failed.
We don't discuss whether it's a lot or a little. Put yourself in the shoes of the one who folds. And the question - is this Ombudsman necessary or unnecessary?
And now specifically:
In the period from September 1, 2014 to August 31, 2016, the Ombudsman received 2,682 new cases from the Lubelskie Voivodeship, including:
1. In the period from September 1, 2014 to September 30, 2015, 1,389 cases from the Lubelskie Voivodeship were received.
2. In the period from September 1, 2015 to August 31, 2016, 1,293 cases from the Lubelskie Province were received.
The situation around the office of the Ombudsman, reducing its budget, or even votes about the necessity of its dismissal, made us think about the way of achieving the statutory goals of the organization, which read:
- maintaining and popularizing the national tradition, cultivating Polishness and developing national, civic and cultural awareness;
- dissemination and protection of human freedoms and rights and civil liberties, as well as activities supporting the development of democracy;
Or even the development of civil society - which is constantly under construction.
It is true that we have the impression that some materials from this construction have been stolen.
We would like to read in the organization's substantive reports how they implement these goals in practice. We encourage you to review the statutes, analyze in terms of actually performed activities. Because why multiply them?
