City Council bottom up, top down

The average number of points in our ranking at the halfway point of our term of office is 17. There are councilors who exceeded it by far and those who obtained significantly less. We lack a unified evaluation system in public and political life. Deprived of the elements on which the current election campaigns are based. Not only here in the city.

We often decide on the basis of scandals and sensational reports intended to discredit one or another politician. Sometimes carefully hidden for several years and kept in drawers for choices. What should these archivists be held responsible for not notifying the competent authorities about the suspected crime.

How does this relate to the overall evaluation of a politician's work? In our opinion - nothing at all.

Therefore, we have made an effort to compile a list based on the figures.

We adopted transparent criteria for all councilors and analyzed: the votes taken during the debates, self-submitted interpellations, the availability of councilors, attendance at voting, membership in committees as well as contact and response to our inquiry.

Ranking radnych Rady Miasta Lubartów

The most points - 47.5 points - and thus he took the first place in our ranking of councilor activity Jakub Wróblewski (Club of councilors, Civic Platform of the Republic of Poland).

This result consists of 25 points. for the vote taken during the debates.

We adopted a score for this criterion from 1 to 5 votes, one point, etc.

We assessed the interpellations in the same way. In this criterion, the councilor obtained 14 points.

Another criterion was the availability of the councilor, i.e. the application telephone number, e-mail address, website / Fb and whether the councilor is on duty. For this we awarded 2 points.

The councilor also obtained 2 points for being present at the voting. This means that there are 90> 95% of votes in the votes.

We assessed membership of the committee at 2 points. It results from the adopted score, in which we awarded 1 point for participation in 2 committees. We awarded 2.5 points for contact. In turn, there were not enough points for the answer to our inquiry.

Second place with a score of 43.5 points. took the councilor Jacek Tomasiak (Common club of Lubartów councilors).

The detailed assessment is as follows:

for the vote taken during the debates he obtained 20 points.

for interpellations - 14 points

for the availability of a councilor - 1 point

for attendance at voting - 4 points

membership in the committee - 2 points

contact - 2.5 points

The third place was taken by the councilor with a score of 37 points Grzegorz Gregorowicz (Common club of Lubartów councilors).

The detailed assessment is as follows:

for the vote taken during the debates he obtained 21 points.

for interpellations - 6 points

for the availability of a councilor - 1 point

for attendance at voting - 2 points

membership in the committee - 2 points

contact - 5 points

Now let's look at the end of the table. So our three representatives who scored the same number of points. In words - six.

And in this group:

Councilor Ewa Grabek (non-attached).

The detailed assessment is as follows:

for the vote taken during the debates she obtained 2 points.

for interpellations - 2 points

for the availability of a councilor - 0 points

for attendance at voting - 1 point

membership in the committee - 1 point

contact - 0 points

Councilor Marzanna Majewska (Law and Justice club of councilors)

The detailed assessment is as follows:

for the vote taken during the debates she obtained 1 point.

for interpellations - 0 points

for the availability of a councilor - 0 points

for attendance at voting - 4 points

membership in the committee - 1 point

contact - 0 points

The last councilor with such a result is a councilor Robert Błaszczak (Club of councilors, Lubartów Community).

More detail:

for the vote taken during the debates he obtained 1 point.

for interpellations - 0 points

for the availability of a councilor - 0 points

for attendance at voting - 4 points

membership in the committee - 1 point

contact - 0 points

Two councilors obtained one point more, i.e. a total of seven.

One of them is a councilor Krzysztof Żyśko (Law and Justice club of councilors).

The only difference between councilor Błaszczak and councilor Żyśka is participation in one more committee.

In turn, a councilor Zbigniew Gałązka (The club of councilors, the Lubartów Community), was less often present at the votes, but received 1 point for interpellations and, like the councilor Żyśko, sits on 3 committees. Therefore, in our opinion, it is worth mentioning them next to the six-point winners.

Does the councilor exercise the right to public information?

Interpelacje radnych Rady Miasta Lubartów

People who answered voters' questions should definitely be distinguished.

And we are talking about councilor Maria Kozak and councilor Grzegorz Gregorowicz.

Councilors are obliged to maintain contact with voters, resulting from the act on municipal self-government (bond with residents).

More than a month ago, on November 6, we sent an inquiry to the City Council Office.

Due to the fact that half of the term of the City Council is behind us, we asked for answers to the following questions:

  1. How do the councilors evaluate its course?

  2. What do they consider their greatest success?

  3. What else would they like to do?

In constituencies 20 and 16, you can rest assured that their questions will not get stuck in their inbox.

The councilors from our constituencies have not yet found the time to do so.

Neither did the other city councilors.

I wonder if voters spend so much time reflecting on whom they will trust and entrust the mandate to exercise power on their behalf.

(Probably not.)
