The sports class in the "three". Everyone is right
In August, parents of children who were enrolled in the sports class met with our authorities at the City Hall. It turned out that the recruitment was fictitious, because there would be no sports class.
From the school's perspective, the organizational sheet submitted to the City Hall includes five classes (i.e. without changes) plus securing money for additional PE lessons. This "no change" meant that any of the existing classes would be disbanded. According to information from the director of SP 3, Marian Bober, he asked the City Hall for permission to create an additional class in June. And, as we understand, hence - securing money for this purpose. To which there is probably no answer to this day. Meanwhile, recruitment was announced in May.
On the other hand, parents whose children would attend a sports class, basically in August found out that there was no additional money to create this class, and that parents of children of already existing classes did not agree to solve another class to "make room" for a sports class. .
At the meeting in the City Hall, it was probably too weak that in the first version it was supposed to look like this: one of the classes was dissolved and money was added for additional PE lessons, approx. zloty.
This is definitely less than for the creation of a new class. That is why Deputy Mayor Tadeusz Małyska spoke at the meeting that the city could not afford additional funds, and additional physical education lessons, for which the money is secured, could be used by more children. Which, in turn, did not quite reach the parents, who said that the idea of a sports class was in fact creating a team.
On our part, we asked for information on the amount of financial resources that Lubartów, all of us, contributes from the so-called own pocket to maintain education.
Last year, everyone earning the minimum wage contributed PLN 203 from their tax to education. Including - a little more due to the increase in the lowest salary. Tax payments alone are, of course, too little to maintain education. That is why we also contribute to it from other sources. In 2019, the city, i.e. all of us, paid PLN 16,302,106.00 from the municipal budget to support kindergartens and schools.

You know, it's not just about money. But these are also important. Because someone else will say that they would prefer to spend more money on the leaky sidewalks. And the duvet is short and if we pull it over the head, our feet will get cold. Anyway, a decision (some) had to be made and communicated to the parents as soon as possible.
And here we come to what we lacked in the whole situation from the beginning.
It turns out that communication is important for us and not only for us. This one was definitely missing. In a few places.
First, the parents of the class (s) considered for termination should be informed in the first place. We cannot imagine a situation that seems to have happened before, where the children come on September 1st and find out that their class has been disbanded. You don't need to be a parent to understand what a difficult experience this can be for a child.
From the letter that parents submitted in July 2020 to the Mayor of the City, Krzysztof Paśnik, we can learn that in April, the tutors, after consulting the school management, assured parents that none of the classes would be dissolved. And therefore, they ask you to clear up any ambiguities with the organization sheets. In turn, during the speech at the meeting of one of the parents, we heard that they also submitted a letter to the Management, to which they did not receive a reply, and hence the decision to contact the leading authority.
Secondly, if this sports class was not to be created in the end, parents should be notified as soon as possible. After all, the recruitment has been announced.
Different institutions make different decisions. They should not forget that the main goal is social welfare.
