Lubartów, July 2017

"The wind blows through the street ..."

We have already written why we join the protest  here

Why on the spot?  Because it weighs completely different.

In 2012, representatives of the local government expressed their opinions about the District Court in Lubartów:

“The District Court in Lubartów plays an important role as an institution of the justice system, efficient and accessible to the local community. The abolition of the District Court in Lubartów is perceived by the inhabitants as the degradation of Lubartów, increasing the already high level of threat to social security in the city and weakening the rank of the district city with almost 470 years of tradition. "

When the minister on behalf of the Civic Platform of the Republic of Poland, Jarosław Gowin, signed an ordinance that liquidated 79 small district courts, turning them into external departments of larger units, the City Council of Lubartów made a decision to oppose the proposed changes.

By the way ... The unsuccessful reform of the judiciary led (again) Minister Jarosław Gowin to the Ministry of Science and Higher Education in the government of Law and Justice.

In turn, in the content
statements  submitted by senators Henryk Cioch, Stanisław Gogacz, Jerzy Chróścikowski and Grzegorz Bierecki at the 4th session of the Senate on January 19, 2012, we read:

“Many years ago, the so-called court years were common - judges would come to municipalities where there were no courts to settle court disputes on the spot. Later, district courts were systematically established in these localities, which additionally increased their prestige and importance. In our opinion, the departure from the long-term and correct policy of the Ministry of Justice is not justified; However, it should certainly be preceded by a very detailed analysis and social consultations, also with associations such as, for example
  Lady Justice . "

Then you could and had to protest against the planned changes.

But about a small town again? Well, again, because it weighs completely different.
Only too much text, too, and it is not known if anyone will read this point.
When, at the session of the City Council in 2012, one could hear fiery speeches against the liquidation of the Court in Lubartów, no one claimed that the judges were a caste to be liquidated. Or that they all have to be dealt with.

"For many weeks and months, this issue has significantly touched all the citizens of our country." No, it's also not now, but in 2012. Mayor of the city
Janusz Bodziacki , during the session of the City Council. In the presence of the President of the District Court in Lubartów.

On July 16, I was not in Warsaw. I was in Lubartów. We wrote on the website: “ Poland is not only Warsaw , not only large cities. No matter how we would like to hide in our backwater, this case concerns us. And you need to be aware of this that the fact that we do not feel like clients of courts on a daily basis means that this is a positive manifestation of their activity. It is not even about the fact that each of us can act as an aggrieved party, perpetrator or witness. This is obvious. The discreet presence of the judiciary in our lives is a condition that characterizes democratic societies. Often, changes to the codes are made on the basis of similar judgments of courts. So we cannot say that it does not concern us. Have you ever been to court? Do you think you won't be because you are honest? You're not hurting anyone? And no one will ever hurt you? The court is only for bullies and thieves? So only for the perpetrators, not for the victims? Your employer has never cheated on you? The Office has never issued and will not issue an unfair decision?

Stay home then. Someone will do it for you… as always.

We are under our judgment tomorrow. And let Lubartów be lit only by two candles.
But it won't be completely dark. "

And what happened, except that there were literally a few candles there?
I wonder if the people who were defending this Judgment at the time - though perhaps I shouldn't have wondered about it - feel well with each other today. It is a small town, most people know each other by sight or personally. After July 16, did they have any problem, passing a judge they knew? Maybe the President herself, from the known caste?

Or maybe it is normal to have such views today, and different tomorrow, as long as you are someone in your own opinion.

Someone called the Fire Department and the Police ... there is no point in quoting comments ...

Politicians have successfully taught us how to be affectionate to each other and on what level to discuss.
It just turned out of us. We have become so "social", so "democratic" and so "civic". Here is, "We, the Nation."
Everyone eagerly recalls Piłsudski's known words.

Only somehow at the same time, no one means himself.
