Center for Social Integration

During the Extraordinary Session of the City Council in August, the councilors decided to establish the Center for Social Integration.

According to the statute of the plant, it will be located at ul. Bolesław Mucharski, at the sewage treatment plant.

The task of this self-government budgetary establishment will be to support people who are excluded and at risk of social and professional exclusion. Including through the use of training courses enabling the acquisition of a profession or improvement of qualifications. The tasks of CIS also include the development of skills allowing for fulfilling social roles and achieving social positions available to people not subject to social exclusion.

In addition, it will also deal with social or supported employment. What is it about? This is a proposal for people from the group of the so-called difficult unemployed. These are homeless people, addicted to alcohol, drugs or other intoxicants. This group also includes people who are mentally ill, long-term unemployed or released from prison. This form of assistance will be available to refugees implementing an individual integration program, as well as the disabled.

We assume that these will be projects implemented in close cooperation with the Municipal Social Assistance Center.

The Social Integration Center will offer services consisting of:

1) cleaning and maintaining cleanliness;

2) renovation works;

3) maintenance of green areas;

4) conservation works.

The operation of the CIS will be financed from two sources. The first source may be subsidies - the city may finance up to 50% of the plant's operating costs. Revenue from the services offered by the CIS is expected to be the second source.

We know from the reports from the session that the extensive introduction to this resolution was (on the joint committee of the City Council?) What was it like? We do not know. Probably only that councilor Wojciech Osiecki said that "some people will arrange our dice for PLN 800". As far as it was related to the activities of the Center.
