How did it happen that he became deputy mayor without entering the second round? He owes his position and position to Janusz Bodziacki from PiS, who chose him as his deputy.

He is also the Chairman of the Board of the Communal Association of Municipalities of the Lubartów Region.
In 2014, before the second round of the elections, in which Janusz Bodziacki and Jerzy Zwoliński faced, Radosław Szumiec, having obtained 1,554 votes, supporting the PiS candidate, said that only the candidacy of Janusz Bodziacki guarantees to a large extent the implementation of the election program of the Lubartów Community. As he said: “For us, he is a guarantor of honesty, honor and personal culture. She is open to people, sensitive to their problems. He is hardworking and has extensive experience in local government work ”.
He spoke about himself at a press conference, among others: “Elections are an indisputable part of democracy and I respect their every result. Leaving only positive gestures and signals from our residents in our hearts. I remain proud of the fair election campaign that was carried out. In the future, I will take advantage of the trust that has been built up towards me. Wisely and respectfully - this slogan remains valid for me at all times ”.
As for the candidates for councilors from the Committee, the Lubartów Community, i.e. Robert Błaszczak, Zbigniew Gałązka, Marek Polichańczuk and Tomasz Krówczyński, according to the declaration of Deputy Mayor Radosław Szumec, they constitute a coalition with PiS councilors.
